It's not an MC, but the hardcover MM had several printings. IIRC Adrian Newman had done a lot of research about this. Maybe if you have some time, could you please grab your MM copies and compare them with mine? _________________ Tome of Treasures - #1 resource for collectible role-playing games.

In my spreadsheet I have mine down as a 1st (will have to dig it out), but one thing I do remember is the Giant Skeleton and Skeleton warrior info was switched. I want to say this was changed when they gave this a black cover at least.

Ralf,
Actually, I have already done some research on Monstrous Manuals - in fact, I just discovered how to identify the 2nd print as I posted this thread!
First (1993): White cover with TSR Angled logo. Blank White Flyleaves
Second: White cover with TSR Angled logo. Flyleaves contain small pictures advertising TSR products.
Third (1994): White cover with TSR Dragon logo. Third printing on copyright page.
Fourth: ?
Fifth: Monstrous Manual in Black Letters, Advanced Dungeons & Dragons in Red letters. "2nd edition" no longer on title. White cover, Black Spine. 5th printing on copyright page.
Sixth: All black cover. Address info on back cover states "TSR".
Seventh: All black cover. Address info on back cover states: "Wizards of the Coast, inc.". (Still uses a TSR logo). States 7th printing on copyright page.
As for the 2nd print that I just figured out . . . I am assuming it is 2nd and not 1st as I imagine TSR decided to add advertising and not remove it. I can post all eventually . . . _________________ "Ah, Blackadder. Started talking to yourself, I see."

I did split this off. I will add the info to the archive page. Paul, can you please provide scans?
Ah, 2nd edition print run research. I guess we have a lot of work to do! _________________ Tome of Treasures - #1 resource for collectible role-playing games.

Paul, could you please check for the 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th printing whether they have an exact printing date inside? Like "7th printing, April 1996".
Thanks! This is becoming a juggernaut! 2nd Edition with print runs.... _________________ Tome of Treasures - #1 resource for collectible role-playing games.
