Don't we all have a box like this (labelled or not) sitting in an attic or basement? I'll get some pictures this weekend. I can describe it better with some visuals. We refinanced recently to get a lower interest rate than when we purchased originally, so I had to do some 'emergency' structural work to the turret ceiling for the appraisal as I removed the original ceiling without supporting it. The work looks awesome but isn't quite complete yet (the story of my life haha) _________________

My collection is making good progress: I've spent several weekends organizing, sorting, and such, and am nearly done with that stage of things! If you scroll back earlier in the thread, you'll see the mess that our bedroom and my storage closet were; things have definitely improved, in the bedroom in particular, where most of the extra boxes have been organized, consolidated, grouped, packed up, labelled, and migrated to the attic:
The boxes remaining in front of the fireplace are AD&D hardcovers and modules (still need to be sorted and grouped beyond shrink/non-shrink), as well as the more-valuable non-manuscript items like OCEs and supplements, Tractics sets, quarto-sized non-TSRs, and wargaming magazines.
Both of the big bookcases are now focused on my immediate research and writing needs (i.e., Greyhawk, dungeon design, Gygax, Kuntz, etc.), and the other rpgs I'm most-likely to play besides D&D in the near term (Call of Cthulhu, Ars Magica, Paranoia, etc.). Both have some open space that I'm still in process of re-sorting to a more-optimal configuration, and I still need to spend more time with the CoC materials to better organize them too.
The closet room is also much-improved, though still a bit of a mess, which is mostly caused by my boxes of minis that aren't as nicely organized as I'd like, and the Moorcock and Gaimon books that I boxed up to make room for shelving/sorting space. The closet will improve once I start to cull the duplicates and unwanteds in earnest!:

Yes, I was noticing that too. Although it makes me wonder if he has a complete set of prints or not - there seems to be a couple of different book/map colours and different combinations placed in the boxes.
Likely both auctions and raw listings on rpgmarketplace. We'll see.

Some more updates to getting things organized: many of the board/wargames are now in the basement, in two large bookshelves (along with a bunch of DVDs). We'll probably keep many there, but I'm pressed for space, so I'll likely consolidate to one shelf, and the others will go up into the attic as well, sometime in August (July is shot: we're in Lithuania/Latvia/St. Petersberg for the next two weeks, then I'm home a week, and we're then in NJ visiting my family there for 8 days).
I didn't get a chance to cut these pics down in size (oh, or apparently re-orient them either! ), so I'm just linking to them for the nonce:

Some updated pics, for those who may care to see that I'm finally getting the books and manuscripts into my office, and out of the attic! Also thankfully, I've made some good progress on getting the mess a bit more organized, too, so it's at least feasible to move around to get to my desk, now More to follow later, once things are all neat and tidy!

A box yet to be shelved, includes Darlene Pekul's Jasmine card game, some 21st Century miniature reprints of AD&D rulebooks and the Expert boxed set, and some misc. 2e era Greyhawk-related boxed sets:
The two additional bookshelves to the left of the built-ins. Mostly AD&D rulebooks, Gygax, Kuntz, Marsh, and related mansucripts and tournaments, as well as OSR and Greyhawk reference books:
Atop the bookshelf are sheet protectors, an EPT set to be mailed to the UK soon, tournament research, and publishing work. Top shelf: early TSR tournaments and Gygax books. Second shelf: manuscripts from Kuntz, Marsh, and a bunch of Kuntz-published projects. The cardboard box on the right is the one that TSR mailed my original OD&D boxed set in, and contains my original correspondence with RJK and EGG:
Bottom two shelves are OSR publications and reference materials, including Knockspell Magazine and Fight On! magainze, modules by Bill Barsh's Pacesetter, Joe Browning's XRP, Guy Fullerton's Chaotic Henchmen modules, James Raggi's LotFP, and some misc. other stuff:
Stacked atop are Black Blade publishing projects stuff. First shelf is mostly my AD&D books, and some binders with my version of Castle Greyhawk, OD&D .pdf printouts, etc. Second shelf starts the 1e TSR modules and Greyhawk books:
The 1e/2e modules continue into the third shelf, including Wolfgang Baur's early Open Design books (most notably Empire of the Ghouls), along with Arneson's _Adventures in Fantasy_ and 3.x Blackmoor books. Bottom shelf is for Greyhawk reference materials and some of my campaign binders:
Top left of the three built-in bookcases. This one has RPG histories and scholarly studies, as well as collector reference books (like Lawrence Schick's _Heroic Worlds_ and John Eric Holmes' _Fantasy Roleplaying Games_):
This is the center shelf of our built-in bookshelves in the office, and will eventually be an organized home for favorite Gary Gygax and Rob Kuntz Greyhawk materials, along with early TSR and OD&D sets:
Top Center built-in shelf features Gygax materials, including Castle Zagyg, my copy of Empire of the Petal Throne, and and a number of fanzines, magazines, and books published by Gary or in which he has articles:
OD&D sets and supplements and early TSR non-D&D books and games are on the first shelf. The second shelf will be more Greyhawk material, once I figure out where to move some of the non-TSR D&D materials:
Third shelf will be more Greyhawk, while the fourth will either be invaded by Greyhawk (bouncing the dictionaries and Edward Tufte books to another book case, perhaps), or will co-habitate. Not sure yet. The bottom shelf (not picture) is currently filled with work reference books:
A couple of TSR rarities: _R4 Doc's Island_ connects Frank Mentzer's Aquaria campaign with the Greyhawk setting. Gary Gygax and Brian Blume wrote and published _Warriors of Mars_ just after D&D was published, but since it was unlicensed, they were sued by the ERB estate and it was never reprinted:
This is the (mostly) Grenadier bookshelf in my game room; there are some Ral Partha, Heritage, and Superior Models minis here, but it's mostly Grenadier from their Wizzards & Warriors, AD&D Solid Gold, and Fantasy Lords production lines. Note the Phineaus Phigures atop the shelf (safely out of harms way from the boys or the cats ):

On the left side of the Game Room are more bookcases for RPGs. This one is mostly Call of Cthulhu and RuneQuest books, with the top (real) shelf being (many of) the books that I've contributed to or published over the years.
Before being taken over by RPGs, this was most of my board games and wargames, but now they're mostly moved to other shelves:
Atop is the Divine Right reprint and some poster maps from Tekumel. Mostly TSR board games and wargames on the top shelf, including early versions of Dungeon! (as well as the Jedko version), and various of Tom Wham's Snits games. Second shelf is a mish-mash of Tunnels & Trolls, Paraoia, and more CoC books (Delta Green mostly), which continue into the third shelf (which concludes with Stormbringer-related RPGs). Fourth shelf is mostly SF RPGs that I'm very interested in at present: Eclipse Phase and Aliens. Bottom shelf's awaiting overflow:
Atop the shelf are more TSR boardames, along with the Gorgonstar edition of Trampier and McAllister's _Titan_. The brown boxes are two diorama sets licensed out by TSR to MPC: Orc War and Dungeon Invaders. Top shelf is more TSR games, with most of the rest of the shelves being used for sorting at the moment:
Two shelves on the left-wall of the alcove contain more family board and wargames: Settlers and Carcassone with expansions, some Avalon Hill games, Junta, Dune, Tales of the Arabian Nights, Cosmic Encounter, etc. Top shelf is mostly cards games (including the wonderful Lunch Money ):

Rarities from my Pagan Publishing collection. I happened to meet the Pagan crew at KULCon II in Lawrence, Kansas, c. 1993, so I was able to pick up many of their early (and now quite rate) products as they were released. So I've had about 2/3 of these since they were published.
Top row: Delta Green fiction anthologies. Alien Intelligence (limited and trade editions), Rules of Engagement (limited hardcover and trade pb), Delta Green Eyes Only limited chapbooks (Machinations of the Mi-Go, The Fate, Project Rainbow), Dark Theatres trade pb (I don't own the limited one), recent Through a Glass Darkly Kickstarter-funded novel, and Thom Ring's King in Yellow.
Middle Rows: Weapons Compendium, Ambrose chapbook stories (not pictured: Broadalbin, as I was reading it a little bit ago and apparently didn't put it back on the shelf; neither Sosostris nor The King in Yellow as I don't own them), Black Sands (Blair Reynolds' horror comic; directly below and to the right are two unpublished comics that may have eventually been part of Black Sands #2, perhaps). Killer Crosshairs is the yellow covered title (and it was later reissued by Biohazard Games too), followed by Alone On Halloween, Guide to the Cthulhu Cult, and Tales of Terror (ToT2 isn't picture, still seeking that one).
Lower rows: Stark Raving Mad (a collection of essays celebrating the 10th anniversary of CoC), The Unspeakable Oaths #1-4, including the pre-press grey-cover #1s, Creatures and Cultists card game, Walker in the Wastes (with players aid pack/kit; my favorite campaign published by Pagan), and Grace Under Pressure (barely visible between the two Walker products, it's one of my favorite convention scenarios ever, along with Blue Planet's "Deep Sh*t"). Then two Outsider catalogs, and a copy of Ken Hite's Dubious Shards, which was printed by Phil Reed exclusively for sale at the Origins convention in 2007 or 2008.
I didn't picture other Delta Green titles, later issues of TUO, etc., since they're more generally available. Also not pictured: Graven Images (a portfolio of Pagan artists' insane imaginings), since it's rather large:
