I just heard that NKG's has the Deities and Demigods orginal Erol Otus cover painting. And a confirmation that the MM exists in the hands of a dormant collector in Hollywood. And a confirmation that Gary Gygax owns the PHB original cover. All told we already know Stormberg has the DMG cover.
I find just knowing this stuff exists to be quite awesome.

We personally believe that more of the original art survived than previously thought. I think alot of it is in the hands of ex-TSR employees and will slowly surface over the next decade or so. Several pieces were sold at GenCon this year(Battle of Britain cover, GD&H cover, SnarfQuest) and the Greyhawk Bugbear is expected next year(dibs ).

Do you think $10.000 would have been too much? Would it make less than that if sold on eBay this christmas? I am no art expert. But considering the money people shelled out for the Kuntz auctions, is it that unrealistic? _________________ Tome of Treasures - #1 resource for collectible role-playing games.

Things I could buy with 15k......
1. An awesome work van
2. payoff 1/3 of our house.
3. put an addition on the house....a full glass conservatory off the kitchen.
4. Put in a full brand new chef's kitchen in the house.
5. Do a full on landscape construction project with new plants.
6. Pay for my Workmen's Comp insurance for this year ending in a few short months.

I have to pay it for my employees (whether I have them or not!!) It is very costly. Basically accounts for 7% of gross profits less material expenses and subcontractors who provide proof of their own workman's comp. insurance.
Long story short.....it really fucking sucks. _________________

Well, its not the gross profit that is a problem. In fact, that would be fantastic if I could hold onto it. Unfortunately, net profit is what I get to keep after all expenses. And that is quite a bit different. _________________

Oh heck. I almost forgot about Fiend Folio. Doesn't this one exist? It could be in Hollywood as well.
Dragons of Desolation original cover sold on ebay circa 2000. It netted $5000 from memory.....which was a record at one time. Aaron used to run auctions for the DL trilogy prints. In the auction description he described seeing the originals sell for over $10,000 each at auction. Be it ebay or other I never really knew for sure. I will ask him via email. _________________
