Kauth is known as the "3-D Wizard". He created models for product covers, for example the
ENDLESS QUEST novel Galactic Challenge or the cover of DRAGON Magazine #100.
He also shared a lot of cartographic work with fellow artists Dave LaForce ("Diesel") and
Dave Sutherland. Contrary to his former collegues, Kauth was able to continue working for Wizards of the Coast after
the buy-out.
