Don Kaye was co-founder of TSR. Kaye saw the great interest generated by Gygax' first campaign appearance at GEN CON® in August 1973.
He formed a business partnership with E. Gary Gyax in October 1973.
This company was TSR (Tactical Studies Research), which released Dungeons & Dragons, the world's first role-playing game in 1974.
In January 1975, Don Kaye died of a heart attack and E. Gary Gygax bought out Kaye's widow.
Gygax later sold most of these shares to Brian Blume and his father Melvin due to cash shortage.
