The Spaniard Segrelles paints heroic fantasy art. His vision is of the lonesome hero, who fights to win freedom or die, often accompanied by beautiful, helpless females.
Segrelles became a famous fantasy artist with the release of the comic series El Mercanario.
Bored by the quality of regular fantasy comics, Segrelles developed the idea of painting a whole comic book in oil colors. And he did it.
Born on September 9, 1940 in Barcelona, Spain, Segrelles started working as an illustrator for an advertising agency. He started fantasy freelancing in 1970.
