Does anyone know of or what the video game entitled "Adventure" is? It should be an RPG style game from 1973 - of course, it would be a text only game.
The reason I ask is I was at Strong Museum today with the family - it is both a huge and sprawling multi-themed "playground" ,but also a toy and game museum. Usually I am running around chasing the kids, but today I got a few minutes pushing the stroller and I thought I'd read some of the displays more thoroughly.
(end backstory) They had a few TSR games in the RPG section (like Pool of Radiance) and also Zork II and some other early games. There was also a historical section written that stated that "Adventure" from 1973 was the first of these types of games featuring a text only interactive game where characters could chose the course of the game. Then there was "Dungeon" (which was Zork I, I believe) in 1977 (?).

They're out by a couple of years, since historically there's only one "Adventure" that has been referred to as such without need for clarification; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colossal_Cave_Adventure . And 99.9%+ of people are only familiar with the later "Crowther & Woods" version.
Depends on where you want to start defining computer RPGs/RPG-style games, I guess; Star Trek, Wumpus, Nuclear Destruction, Empire, etc...
