Mmmmhh... Do you prefer the stuff on the rocks, with water or pure?

That depends on the mood I'm in. It would either be with club soda on the rocks or neat.

On the rocks for me. A little too strong otherwise. I do enjoy Brandies and Cognac as they are meant to be enjoyed. In a nice big snifter that allows me to warm them by hand appropriately. Enjoying a measure of liquor with a cigar is an acquired taste in my opinion and definitely worth experimentation. Even a nice strong cup of coffee can compliment a nice cigar Very Happy

My scotch experience is very limited. My father is a big fan of the blended scotches such as Dewars and Cutty Sark. I've had some of the various "Glens" mentioned above and found them enjoyable however typically too expensive. I will splurge on occasion for some Elija Craig small batch bourbon though. That stuff is Gold! Anybody a fan of the Irish Whiskies? Jamesons is pretty good for a blend. Bought some Duggans Dew recently, unfortunately it was not to my liking, its a strange flavor...

I was never a big fan of whiskeys. They always seemed to interfere with the sweet end of my palate. I always leaned towards cheap beers and expensive vodka. Grey Goose went down wayyyyy too well, if'n you know what I mean.

I just have nothing useful to add to this thread . . . but I don't want to be left out, so I'm posting anyway . . . Very Happy

That's it . . . really.

Nothing to say . . . like Adam Ant said: "Don't Drink, don't smoke, what do you do?"

Hey simrion! My Bolivars came today. Email your address and I'll send you a couple. Try 'em out.

Hey Kynan,

Thanks for the samples, the Bolivars are a nice smoke. I actually even enjoyed the Padron (damn are those things expensive shocked ) Thanks again for the too generous sampling of some mighty fine smokes! worship

You're very welcome. The Padron is a highly rated cigar by the experts, but it's just more than I need. The next box I order (it will be awhile) will be La Aurora. It was also in the same sampler as the Padron and was wonderful.

I hope everyone here had the chance to look skyward last night. It was pretty cool. If you missed it there will still be some things to see tonight.
